For the last 8 consecutive years Lightnings have been awarded RoSPA’s National Gold Safety Award and for the last 9 consecutive years the British Safety Council’s National Safety Award in recognition of Lightnings’ Employee’s and Lightnings very high overall and above national average Safety Performance and ongoing Awareness.  All levels of Lightnings’ Management and Personnel are committed to achieving the highest possible levels of Safety and remain always vigilant and dedicated to monitoring and improving Safety Performance and Awareness on an ongoing basis, with specific emphasis being accorded to training to enable all personnel to fully understand and be conversant with applicable and relevant strict Permit Systems, Controls and Procedures.

The In-House Safety Advisor reports directly to the Group Managing Director and all sites are Safety audited and monitored on a regular basis linked into regular Safety Refresher and Awareness Courses and Training, with on-site activities being supported by the appointment of suitably trained and appointed Safety Representatives with full Training being provided as necessary.

Under no circumstances do Lightnings compromise any aspect or area of Safety and demand, on an ongoing basis, an across the board high level of commitment concerning all aspects of Safety irrespective of the extent and type of the works and we believe and support working as a combined Team with the Clients of Lightnings to achieve the best possible and most comprehensive commitment relating to Safety. 

On-site Safety Sampling and Auditing involves Company Senior Management and where mutually agreed inter / across Company Safety Auditing and Sampling activities take place, with special emphasis being given to the needs and requirements of working within the confines of Hazardous Area Environments and installations and in the presence of Hydrocarbons and Hazardous / Toxic Substances and Products.
